I am curious and i like to read and study on all kind of subjects. I want to make a difference in the world and work for people over profit. 

That's probably why I ended up procuring things for the UN. Since 2010 I was involved in hundreds of tenders and contracts for the widest variety of things, from fuel to clinics, from roads to forecast ICT systems. All of this hoping to leave the world in better shape for generations to come.

 

I also worked on e-procurement systems, foreign direct investments, UN coordination, procurement regulations, sustainable procurement and data-driven decision making for procurement

Procurement Officer

​2014 - present

I currently work in Procurement Field support for WFP.

 

Until 2021, I managed a large portion of procurement of Goods & Services for WFP headquarter and emergency operations. to  with a focus on fuel (100-150 million lt/years) and emergency-relief items/services. When I entered the unit in 2014 it was procuring 452 million USD, when i left it in 2021, it procured 1.042 billion USD. We expanded the scope and depth of support to field operations and helped millions to get the help they needed to live. In 2020, WFP was also awarded the Nobel Peace prize (read motivation here)

I also managed specific projects on procurement and supply chain optimization, through data-viz, data analysis, system integration and digitalization.  Finally, I Chaired the UN e-procurement community of practice and I am part of High Level Committee of Management - Procurement Network (HLCM-PN) and Rome-Based-Agencies common procurement team (CPT). Since 2022, i am part of the Strategic and operational support unit in WFP supply chain division, and responsible for the procurement field support worldwide.
